Pedro Batista was born in 1980 in Lisbon, Portugal.
He grows up in Carcavelos, between the city and the sea;
an area where the culture of skateboarding, surfing and garage bands shaped his practice.
After graduating in Communication Design in Lisbon, Pedro Batista made the artist residency program at the New York School of Visual Arts
In 2010 Pedro moved to Berlin for a period of 7 months. Later, in 2015, he travels to Medellín, Colombia, where he completes an art residency in Campos de Gutierrez. In 2020, in the middle of a pandemic, he spends a month at the artistic residency at Villa Lena, in Italy. He has participated in multiple solo and group exhibitions in Lisbon, Medellin, Malaga, Stockholm and New York. He currently lives and works in Lisbon.
